The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, version 4.0, 4.0a, 4.0b
 - Microsoft Works for the Power Macintosh, version 4.0b
 - Microsoft Works for the Macintosh 4.0b and Bookshelf '94
----------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

When you run the Works Froggy Demo after installing Works 4.0, 4.0a, or
4.0b, your system may hang (stop responding). This problem can occur with
either System 7.1 or 7.5, but only if you have Virtual Memory turned on.

CAUSE
=====

The Froggy Demo is a Macromind Projector file, and there have been problems
running this type of file with Virtual Memory turned on.

RESOLUTION
==========

To turn off Virtual Memory and run the entire demo, do the following:

1. From the Apple menu, choose Control Panels.

2. Open the Memory icon.

3. Turn Virtual Memory off and close the window.

4. From the Special menu, choose Restart.

MORE INFORMATION
================

Because it is highly recommended that you run the Power Macintosh version
of Works 4.0b with Virtual Memory turned on, you should switch the Virtual
Memory setting back on after you run the demo if you are using the Power
Macintosh version of Works.
