Symptoms

When you attempt to install the Compaq Integrated PCI NetFlex network adapter driver for LAN Manager version 2.2c from the Compaq SP0975 Software Support Disk (SSD), the following error message appears:

No adapter description files were found

Cause

The directory path structure on the Compaq SP0975 SSD disk for the network adapter driver is:

   <drive>:\CPQNET\MSLANMAN\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\NDIS
   <drive>:\CPQNET\MSLANMAN\DRIVERS\NIF

LAN Manager Setup is not able to locate the following files when you select <Other Drivers> and specify the correct directory on the Compaq SP0975 SSD disk:

PCNTND.NIF PCNTND.DOS PROTOCOL.INI

Resolution

To correct this problem, rename the directory structure on the Compaq SP0975 SSD disk to:

   <drive>:\CPQNET\MSLANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\NDIS
   <drive>:\CPQNET\MSLANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\NIF
