SYMPTOMS
========

In Microsoft Project, when you open a project that contains a
publisher in mail, the edition file remains on your hard drive even
if you close the file and choose not to save the changes.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs because an edition file is recreated any time the
edition file is referenced. For example, when you open a file that
contains a publisher, if the edition file is not available in the
folder that contains the publishing file, it is recreated in this
folder.

When you open a project file in a mail message, if the file contains
a publisher, the edition file is referenced, and therefore created on
the hard drive. This edition file remains on the hard drive even if
you close the project file and choose not to save changes to the
file. Note that in this case, the project file does not exist on your
hard drive, but only in the mail message in which it was sent.

WORKAROUNDS
===========

To work around this problem, after you close the file that contains
the publisher in mail, delete the edition file by dragging the file
to the Trash.
