SYMPTOMS
========

In Microsoft Project, when you edit a note in the Task Form or
Resource Form, and you press OK to enter the information, if you then
press the RETURN key, the information you entered in the Notes field
may be replaced, instead of the default button, Next, being chosen as
expected.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs because in Microsoft Project for the Macintosh,
when you view your project in the Task Form or Resource Form with the
Notes field displayed, when the Notes field is active, the RETURN key
always creates a carriage return character, or starts a new line in
the Notes field. When you choose the OK button to enter a note while
the Notes field is active, the note is entered, as expected. However,
the text in the Notes field is selected, so that if you press RETURN,
even though the Next button is the default button, a carriage return
is entered in the Notes field, replacing the text in the Notes field
if the text was selected.

This behavior does not occur with any of the other fields in the Task
or Resource Form.

WORKAROUNDS
===========

To work around this behavior, and to retain the text in the Notes field,
after you choose OK to enter the note, choose the Next button to activate
the Notes field for the next task in the project.
