SYMPTOMS
========

When you run The Microsoft Network, temporary files may appear on the
desktop.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if the SET TMP statement points to an invalid
directory.

The Microsoft Network uses the directory specified by the TMP environment
variable for temporary file storage. If the directory does not exist,
temporary files are created on the desktop. Note that this behavior does
not cause any harm.

RESOLUTION
==========

To correct this behavior, create the directory that is pointed to by the
TMP environment variable, or modify the SET TMP statement to point to an
existing directory.
