SUMMARY
=======

When you link a picture to a presentation, the presentation will have the
same file size as if you embedded the picture. This is by design. The link
merely tells PowerPoint to re-read the picture every time the presentation
is opened so if any changes have been made to the picture, they will be
reflected in the presentation.

MORE INFORMATION
================

PowerPoint saves a metafile copy of the picture in your presentation. Every
time you open the presentation, PowerPoint updates this metafile if
necessary. It uses this copy to display your picture. If you move the
presentation or delete the picture file, PowerPoint will still display the
picture as it last appeared.
