SYMPTOMS
========

When you run the Microsoft Project Setup program, the dialog box that
prompts you for the directory to which you want to install the application
may appear incorrectly.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs if you have Super Boomerang (a utility that ships with
Now Utilities) installed on your system. The menu bar of the dialog box
that asks you for the directory to which you want to install Microsoft
Project may appear incorrectly when you run Microsoft Project Setup.

WORKAROUND
==========

To avoid this problem, and any other extension conflict that may occur with
Microsoft Project Setup, start your system with the extensions off before
you run Microsoft Project Setup. To do this, press and hold down the SHIFT
key while you restart your computer. Continue to hold down the SHIFT key
until you receive the message "Extensions are off."

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
