The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Money 99
 - Microsoft Money 98
 - Microsoft Money version 4.0, 4.0a and 5.0 for Windows 95
 - Microsoft Money versions 1.0, 2.0, 2.0a, 3.0, and 3.0a
-------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

In Microsoft Money, part or all of the main window may be hidden from view
(it may be partially or completely off the screen). Because you cannot see
or access the title bar, you are unable to drag the window back into
the middle of the screen.

CAUSE
=====

This problem may occur if you change your video resolution, or if you
accidentally move the window off the screen. This problem may also be
caused by a corrupted Msmoney.ini file in Money versions 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0.

RESOLUTION
==========

To restore the position of the main Money window, use the appropriate
method for your version of Money.

Money 4.0 and Later
-------------------

To move the window back onto the screen, use the appropriate method for
your version of Microsoft Windows:

Windows 95/98, Windows NT 4.0:

1. On the taskbar, click Microsoft Money.

2. Press ALT+SPACEBAR to access the Control menu.

3. Click Move.

4. Use the ARROW keys to move the window back onto the screen.

5. Press ENTER to keep the changes.

For more information about how to perform this task in Windows, see
your Windows printed documentation or online Help.

Windows 3.x:

1. Switch to Money by pressing CTRL+ESC.

2. On the Task List, click Money.

3. Click Cascade to rearrange the screen location of your open programs.

Money 3.0 and Earlier
---------------------

If you are using Microsoft Money versions 1.x, 2.x, or 3.x, follow these
steps:

1. Rename the Msmoney.ini file in the Msmoney directory.

   For more information about how to perform this task in Windows, see
   your Windows printed documentation or online Help.

2. Start Money, and then move or resize a window so that a new
   Msmoney.ini file is created.

NOTE: While this method is the fastest, it also resets other changes
you have made in the Msmoney.ini file, such as the PrintOffset
settings. If necessary, you can compare the new Msmoney.ini file with
the renamed file (that is, your old Msmoney.ini), and manually modify
the new Msmoney.ini file with information from the old file.

Money 99, 98, 5.0 and 4.0  do not use a Msmoney.ini file.
