RESOLUTION
==========

If you receive the above error message, first check the WINDIR setting by
switching out of Windows through the MS-DOS Prompt icon. Type "set" at the
MS-DOS command prompt. If the WINDIR= line does not reflect the location of
the Windows directory, follow these steps:

1. Check the Path Statement in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file to ensure that the
Windows directory is located in the path.

2. Check for a duplicate WIN.COM file. (This file should only be
located in the Windows directory. Rename any other WIN.COM that is
   found.)

3. Rebuild the REG.DAT file. For information about rebuilding
the REG.DAT file, see the following article in the Microsoft
   Knowledge Base:

      ARTICLE-ID:Q122964
TITLE :How to Rebuild the Reg. Dat File and Re-Register
                  Applications

4. Once the WINDIR setting is correct, do the following:

If you are using Microsoft Bob, version 1.0 follow the steps below:

   a. Rename or delete WAVMIX16.DLL located in the Windows SYSTEM
      subdirectory.

   b. Rename or delete WAVEMIX.INI located in the Windows directory.

   c. Rename or delete SETUP.STF located in MSBOB\SETUP subdirectory.

   d. Exit and restart Windows, and reinstall Bob from the original
      disks.

      subdirectory.
