SUMMARY
=======
 
When you initiate an Online session, Money creates the following file(s),
where <file name> is the name of your file, for example "Msmoney" or "My
money":
 
   Money 99, 98 or 5.0: <file name>.npc, <file name>.vsa, and
   <file name>.ofd
 
   Money 4.0: <file name>.npc
 
   Money 3.0: <file name>.snd
 
These files contain the Money information you are sending to the bank.
 
After sending the information, Money put the responses from your bank in
the following file(s):
 
   Money 99, 98 and 5.0: <file name>.npd, <file name>.vsb, or
   <file name>.ofe.
 
   Money 4.0: <file name>.npd
 
   Money 3.0: <file name>.rcv
 
These files contain the information to be added to your account book or
register.
 
This article describes how ou can copy these files to another disk or
directory and use them for Money troubleshooting.

The *.vsa, *.vsb, *.ofd, *.ofe, *.npc, *.npd, *.snd, and *.rcv files
are deleted from the hard disk when you click Continue at the
conclusion of your Online session. To save or capture the files, follow
these steps:
 
1. Start an Online session.
 
2. When you complete your session, you receive a Call Summary box. Do
   not click Continue.
 
3. You must leave Money to save the *.vsa, *.vsb, *.ofd, *.ofe, *.npc,
   *.npd, *.snd or *.rcv files.
 
   Follow the steps below for your version of Windows.
 
   These steps involve searching for, copying and saving files. For
   more information about how to perform these tasks in Windows, see
   your Windows printed documentation or online Help.
 
   Windows 95/98
   -------------
 
   a. Click the Start button, point to Programs, and then click Windows
      Explorer.
 
   b. In your Msmoney folder, usually on drive C, look for the *.vsa,
      *.vsb, *.ofd, *.ofe, *.npc, *.npd, *.snd, or the *.rcv files.
 
   c. Select one file. Click the file and hold down the mouse button.
      Drag the file to another directory or disk. Repeat these steps
      with the other file.
 
   d. Close Explorer.
 
   e. On the taskbar, click the Microsoft Money button to return to the
      program.
 
   Windows 3.x and Windows for Workgroups
   --------------------------------------
 
   a. Press CTRL+ESC. A task list will appear.
 
   b. Click Program Manager, and then click Switch To.
 
   c. In Program manager, start File Manager, usually located in the
      Main program group.
 
   d. In File Manager, select the Msmoney subdirectory, usually
      located on drive C. Double-click Msmoney to open the directory,
      and look for *.snd and *.rcv files.
 
   e. Select the *.snd and *.rcv files. Press F8. In the dialog
      box, type another directory or location to copy the files to.
      Click OK.
 
   f. Close File Manager and return to Money.
 
4. Continue processing the *.rcv file.
