 - Microsoft Money version 5.0 for Windows 95
 - Microsoft Money versions 4.0, and 4.0a for Windows 95

SUMMARY
=======

Microsoft Money defaults to the next-highest available check number when
you enter new checks in a new session.

MORE INFORMATION
================

Money views check number entries only as numbers and ignores any
intervening characters such as decimal points or alphabetic characters.
For example, if a check number is 9.111, Money will ignore the decimal
and see this as check number 9111. The next check will then automatically
be numbered 9.112

RESOLUTION
==========

If Money is numbering checks incorrectly, it is possible that you have
an irregular number. Follow these steps:

1. In Money 99, 98, 5.0 or 4.0:

      Click the arrow on the View bar and change the view to By Number
      (Sort By Number in Money 99).

   In Money 1.0, 2.0, 3.0:

      On the View menu, click All (By Num). This sorts the checks by
      their numerical values.

2. The highest numbered checks will be near the bottom of the register.
   Note any checks that have incorrect numbers and correct them.

3. All new checks should now be automatically numbered correctly.
