SUMMARY
=======

Step 5 in the LFNBK.TXT file, which reads "Turn tunneling on again, and
then restart the computer," is incorrect. To restore the long filename,
you must leave tunneling disabled.

MORE INFORMATION
================

To properly restore long filenames, follow these steps:

1. Turn off tunneling. To do so, follow these steps:

   a. Click the Start button, point to Settings, then click Control
      Panel.

   b. Double-click the System icon.

   c. Click the Performance tab, then click the File System button.

   d. Click the Troubleshooting tab, then click the "Disable long name
      preservation for old programs" check box to select it.

   e. Click OK until you return to Control Panel.

2. Quit all other applications (LFNBK cannot rename open files).

3. At an MS-DOS command prompt, type the following command to back up
   and remove long filenames

      lfnbk /b [<drive>]

   where <drive> is the drive containing the long filenames you want to
   back up and remove.

4. Restart your computer and then run the disk utility. If it is an
   MS-DOS-based program, make sure to run it in MS-DOS mode.

5. At an MS-DOS command prompt, type the following line to restore long
   filenames

      lfnbk /r [<drive>]

   where <drive> is the drive on which long filenames should be restored.

Once long file names are restored, enable tunneling again.
