SYMPTOMS
========
 
When you edit two or three colors consecutively in Microsoft Paint, you
receive the following error message:
 
   An error has occurred in your program. To keep working anyway,
   click Ignore and save your work in a new file. To quit this
   program, click Close.
 
   You will lose information you entered since your last save.
 
If you click Ignore, nothing happens. If you click Close, you receive the
following error message:
 
   This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut
   down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
 
When you click Close, Paint terminates.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
To avoid this problem, edit only one color during a Paint session.
