SUMMARY
=======

In Automap Road Atlas versions 1.x and 3.x, latitude and longitude
coordinates, shown when you select the Track option from the Utilities
menu, use degrees and minutes.

In Automap Pro version 1.x, the latitude and longitude coordinates
used in the Database Editor use decimal degrees.

Microsoft Automap Road Atlas version 4.x can be set to use either
degrees and minutes or decimal degrees.

MORE INFORMATION
================

The degrees and minutes used in Road Atlas versions 1.x and 3.x use the
following format:

   43' 22.2" N

where 43 is the Degrees and 22.2 is the degrees in minutes.

Automap Pro uses decimal format measurements, where 43' 22.2" N would
interpret as follows:

   43.37

where 43 is the degrees and 37 is the decimal minutes.

The formula used for Decimal Minute calculation is:

   .37 = 22.2/60

NOTE: Special consideration should be given when using longitude
coordinates. If the coordinate is globally west of the Greenwich Meridian
line (for example, anywhere in the United States) the longitude coordinate
needs to be negative number.

Microsoft Road Atlas for Windows version 4.0 may use either notation. You
may toggle between decimal, and degree and minute. To change the notation,
Click Tools, then click Track. After you select latitude/longitude, click
Options.
