SUMMARY
=======

You may find it necessary to restore some or all transactions removed while
you archived a Money (.mny) file.

This article tells how to complete that process.

MORE INFORMATION
================

To restore archived transactions, do the following:

 - Clean up your archive file.

 - Export the transactions that have been archived.

 - Import the .qif file into your money file.

NOTE: You should make a backup copy of the archive file before you begin
these steps.

1. Open the archive file that contains the transactions you want
   to restore.

   a. On the File menu, click Open.

   b. Select your archived file and click OK.

2. Remove any transactions from the archive file that may cause
duplicates in your primary Money file.

For example, if you archived transactions prior to 1/1/95 on 4/30/95,
you need to remove transactions from the archive file for 1/1/95 through
   4/30/95.

After removing any potential duplicate transactions, follow the steps
below.

Exporting the Transactions from the Archive file
------------------------------------------------

1. On the File menu, click Export.

2. In the Export dialog box, select Loose QIF, and then click OK.

3. In the next Export dialog box, use the suggested name or name
the file with a .qif extension. Name the file so you can identify it
   later. Click OK.

4. For version 3.x, in the next Export dialog box, select the
type of account you want to export (restore). Each account
that you export needs to have a different name.

NOTE: If you have Investments, select Investments and export
   these accounts first.

5. In the Select An Export Account dialog box, select the
account you want to export, and then click Continue.

6. In the confirmation Export Complete dialog box, click OK.

7. Repeat these steps for each Investment and Regular account listed.

   to restore and click OK.
