SYMPTOMS
========

If you print to an Hewlett-Packard (HP) or an Epson color printer from
Automap on a computer using an Orchid video card, you may receive a random
general protection (GP) fault.

CAUSE
=====

The GP fault is caused by the Orchid video driver and the Orchid video card
ROM BIOS hardware chip. The Orchid video card ROM BIOS can not be upgraded
with software; it requires an updated replacement ROM chip from the
manufacturer.

RESOLUTION
==========

To correct this problem, use one of the following two methods:

Method 1
--------

Upgrade the Orchid Video ROM BIOS chip to version 3.0 or later and install
the Orchid video display driver version 7.2 or later.

-or-

Method 2
--------

Replace the Orchid video driver with the standard VGA or Super VGA driver

Windows 3.x
-----------

To install the VGA or Super VGA driver in Microsoft Windows 3.x, do the
following:

1. Double-click the Windows Setup icon located in the Main program group.

2. On the Options menu, click Change System Settings.

3. Click VGA or SVGA. Choose OK.

   If the installation program cannot find the necessary files to
   install the VGA display driver, a message similar to the following
   appears:

      Please insert the Microsoft Windows Disk, or a disk that contains
      the file...

      If the files on this disk can be found at a different
      location, for example, on another drive, type a new
      path to the file below.

   The message may vary depending upon the version of Microsoft Windows
   installed. Follow the instructions displayed to install
   the standard VGA or SVGA video driver.

   If the new video driver is currently installed on the system, a Change
   System Settings dialog box appears with the message.

4.  Click Current.

    NOTE: If you choose New, you are prompted to insert the Windows
    disks as noted in the message above.

5. Restart Windows when you are prompted.

Installing With Windows 95
--------------------------

To install the VGA or SVGA video driver in Microsoft Windows 95, do the
following:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click the System icon. Click the Device Manager tab, then double-
   click Display Adapters.

3. Select the display adapter you currently have installed, then click the
