The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows, versions 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 4.0a, 4.0c
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

If you change your screen resolution while PowerPoint 2.0, 3.0, or 4.x is
open, the slide size in Slide Show appears incorrectly. For example, if you
change the screen resolution from 1024 x 768 to 640 x 480, PowerPoint Slide
Show will display only a portion of the slide. If you change the screen
size from 640 x 480 to 1024 x 768, PowerPoint's Slide Show will not fill
the entire screen.

CAUSE
=====

PowerPoint checks your screen resolution only at startup. If you change the
resolution while PowerPoint is running, it will still run the slide show at
the old resolution.

WORKAROUND
==========

To get PowerPoint to display in the new screen resolution correctly,
save all your work in PowerPoint, quit PowerPoint, and then restart it.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. This problem has been corrected in
Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows 95, version 7.0.
