The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS
========

If you insert a sound (.wav) file into a PowerPoint presentation, you may
receive the following error:

   Not enough disk space to spool data.

This error message is displayed if you are using Creative Labs SoundO'le
program instead of the Windows Sound Recorder and the sound file is located
on a CD-ROM or a network drive.

RESOLUTION
==========

There are three ways to solve this problem:

Method 1: Copy the sound file to your local hard disk before embedding it.

Method 2: Use Media Player instead of SoundO'le to embed the sound.

Method 3: Use Windows Sound Recorder instead of SoundO'le to embed the
          sound. To replace SoundO'le with Sound Recorder as your OLE sound
          provider, use the following steps:

          a. In Program Manager, click Run on the File menu.

          b. At the command line, type the following and press ENTER:

                regedit /u setup.reg

             You should see the following message:

                The information in SETUP.REG has been successfully
                added to the Registration Database.

          When you embed a sound, Sound Recorder will start instead of
          SoundO'le.
