1. Q. How do I transfer my Money file between two computers?
 
   A. File management is controlled by Windows Explorer. You need to
      copy your data file with the .mny extension to a floppy disk to
      use the file with another computer.

2. Q. How do I create a standard set of categories and subcategories in
      Money?
 
   A. Perform the following three steps:
 
      1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
 
      2. Click the Categories Tab, and then click Add.
 
      3. When Money confirms that the Standard Categories have been
         added to your list of categories, click OK.
 
3. Q. How do I change the opening balance?
 
   A. Perform the following four steps:
 
      1. At the Contents Window, click Account Manager.
 
      2. Select the account you want to change, and click Account
         Details.
 
      3. Type the new opening balance in the Opening balance box.
 
      4. Click Go To Account to return to the Account Register to
         record the change.
 
4. Q. How do I use a password to protect my Money file?
 
   A. You can assign a password to any Money file. Once a file has a
      password, you are prompted to type it each time you open that
      file or start Money with that file.
 
      To add a password to your current Money file, perform the
      following four steps:
 
      1. Open the Money file you want to protect with a password.
 
      2. On the File menu, click Password.
 
      3. In the New Password dialog box, type the password you would
         like to use, then click OK.
 
      4. In the New Password dialog box, retype the password to confirm
         your new password.
 
         NOTE: Microsoft engineers cannot unlock password-
         protected files. Keep a record of your passwords in
         a safe place.
 
5. Q. How do I remove the password on a Money file:
 
   A. Perform the following three steps:
 
      1. On the File menu in Money, click Password.
 
      2. Type your current password in the Password box and click OK.
 
      3. When you are asked to type a new password, press ENTER twice.
 
      The password is now removed from the file.
 
6. Q. If I add a password to my Money file, and then forget my
      password, what do I do?
 
   A. Currently there is no way to open a password-protected file in
      Money 4.0 for Windows 95. Please be sure to keep a record of your
      passwords in a safe place.
 
7. Q. What if I did not set up a password, but Money keeps requesting
      one?
 
   A. Your .mny file may be corrupted. If this is the case, you may
      need to use your backup file.
 
8. Q. Can Money import Quicken files?
 
   A. Yes. To import a Quicken account into Money, perform the
      following six steps:
 
      1. Prepare each of your accounts in Quicken by exporting each
         Quicken account to a separate file, using the Quicken Export
         command. Make sure to export all the .qif files to the same
         folder.
 
      2. On the File menu in Money, click Import.
 
      3. In the Filename box, select all the Quicken account files you
         want by pressing and holding down the CTRL key while you click
         the files.
 
         NOTE: It is important that you import all of the .qif files at
         the same time to be sure that transfers between accounts are
         imported properly.
 
      4. After you've chosen all the files you want, click OK.
 
      5. Do one of the two following steps:
 
         a. In the Select Import Account dialog box, choose the Money
            accounts to which you want the first Quicken account
            records added.
 
            -or-
 
         b. If you want to create a new Money account for the Quicken
            records, click New to create new accounts.
 
      6. Click OK to complete the import of Quicken files
         into Money.

9. Q. Can you export Money files into Quicken?
 
   A. Yes. To export an account from Money into Quicken, perform the
      following five steps:
 
      1. On the File menu in Money, click the Export command.
 
      2. Click Strict QIF.
 
      3. Type the name for the .qif file you want Money to create.
 
      4. Select the type of account and specific account you want to
         export.
 
      5. The export account is exported in a .qif format. For
         information about how to import the .qif file in Quicken,
         refer to your Quicken user's guide.
