SYMPTOMS
========

After you install Windows 95 on a Compaq Contura Aero computer, the PCMCIA
floppy disk drive no longer works.

CAUSE
=====

This problem can occur if both the standard floppy disk controller driver
and the PCMCIA Compaq floppy disk controller driver are installed. The
presence of both drivers creates a conflict that causes the floppy disk
drive not to work.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve the problem, disable the standard floppy disk controller driver.
To do so, follow these steps:

1. In Control Panel, double-click the System icon.

2. On the Device Manager tab, double-click Floppy Disk Controller.

3. Click Standard Floppy Disk Controller, and then click Properties.

4. On the General tab, click the Original Configuration (Current) check
   box to clear it, and then click OK or Close until you return to
   Control Panel. When you are prompted to restart your computer, do so.
