SUMMARY
=======
 
Microsoft Automap Road Atlas has a command line option that can
provide access to the United States and Europe maps directly from the
Windows icon.

To access the maps from windows, use the steps below for your version of
Windows.
 
Windows 95
----------
 
If Microsoft Automap Road Atlas is installed on a system running
Microsoft Windows 95, you can access the USA and Europe maps directly
from the Start button.
 
To access the USA or Europe map, do the following:
 
 1. With your right mouse button, click the taskbar.
 
 2. Click Properties.
 
 3. Click the Start Menu Programs tab.
 
 4. Click Advanced.
 
 5. Click the Programs folder located on the left side of the screen.
 
 6. Double-click the Automap folder.
 
 7. Select the Automap Road Atlas for Windows icon by clicking the icon
    one time.
 
 8. On the Edit menu, click Copy.
 
 9. On the Edit menu, click Paste. This puts a copy of the icon in the
    Automap folder.
 
10. With your right mouse button, click the new copy of the icon.
 
11. Click Properties.
 
12. Click the Shortcut tab.
 
13. Add the one of the following lines to the end of the Target line:
 
       /map:europe
 
       -or-
 
       /map:usa
 
    Then, click OK.
 
14. Click Copied Icons Name to change the name to the map you've selected.
 
The new icon can be found by clicking the Start button and then pointing to
the Automap group.
 
Windows 3.x
-----------
 
If you are using Automap Road Atlas for Windows with Microsoft Windows
version 3.x, you can access the USA and Europe maps directly from a
Program Manager icon.
 
To access the USA or Europe map, do the following:
 
1. Select the current Automap Road Atlas for Windows icon. To select the
   icon, click the icon one time.
 
2. On the File menu, click Copy. The Copy Program Item: dialog box appears.
   Select where you want to put the icon, and then click OK.
 
3. On the File menu, click Properties to access the Program Item Properties
   dialog box.
 
4. In the Command Line: box add one of the following entries.
 
      /map:europe
 
      -or-
 
      /map:usa
 
   The entry should look similar to the following:
 
      c:\automap\amw.exe /map:europe
 
   where c: is the letter of your hard drive where you installed Automap.
 
5. Change the Description Line to Europe or USA.
