SYMPTOMS
========

When you try to access a news URL with Internet Explorer, you may receive
the following error message:

   Unable to read news. MCM.DLL is missing entry point
   NewsProtocolHandler. You may have an incorrect version
   of MCM.DLL. Try setting up your news program again.

CAUSE
=====

Internet Explorer requires the version of the Mcm.dll file that is
distributed with The Microsoft Network version 1.05 to access news URLs.

RESOLUTION
==========

Upgrade to The Microsoft Network version 1.05. This will cause the correct
version of the Mcm.dll file to be installed on your computer.

MORE INFORMATION
================

If you choose to use a LAN connection or a third-party Internet service
provider as your provider when you run the Internet Setup Wizard in
Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95, the version of The Microsoft Network that
is included with Windows 95 does not get upgraded from version 1.0 to 1.05.
You can upgrade to The Microsoft Network version 1.05 by running the
Internet Setup Wizard again and specifying The Microsoft Network as your
service provider.
