SUMMARY
=======

When you reply to a TeamAssign request, if you enter a value in a duration
field for the task, you may receive the following error message

   The following entry cannot be converted to a date, duration, number,
   cost, or Yes/No value: n

where <n> is the value that you entered for the duration.

MORE INFORMATION
================

This error message appears if you enter a value without a unit in a
duration field, such as Duration1, in a customized TeamAssign request. For
example, if you enter the value "5" without a unit, this error message
described above appears when you reply to the request.

This behavior occurs because in Microsoft Project, the person who sends a
TeamAssign request has a default duration unit set for the project (Show
Duration In value on Schedule tab in Options dialog box). This default unit
is automatically applied to duration values that are entered in the project
without a unit. However, the resource that you send a TeamAssign request to
may have a different default duration unit. By forcing you to add a
duration unit when you enter a duration value in a TeamAssign request,
there is no confusion over what the default duration unit is for the task.

WORKAROUNND
===========

To work around this behavior, include the duration unit when you enter a
value in a duration field in a customized TeamAssign request. The following
is a list of the accepted duration units:

   Minutes                  Hours
   ------------------------------
   m                        h
   min                      hr
   mins                     hrs
   minute                   hour
   minutes                  hours
   em (elapsed              eh (elapsed
       minutes)                 hours)

   Days                     Weeks
   ------------------------------
   d                        w
   dy                       wk
   dys                      wks
   day                      week
   days                     weeks
   ed (elapsed days)        ew(elapsed weeks)
