SYMPTOMS
========

When you play a QuickTime movie from a compact disc in a PowerPoint slide
show, it may play with a decreased frame rate, and the sound may drop out
intermittently. This can occur even if the movie plays properly within
slide view.

RESOLUTION
==========

Copy the QuickTime movie from the compact disc to the hard disk and then
follow these steps to delete the link from PowerPoint to the QuickTime
movie on the compact disc and re-establish it to the QuickTime movie on the
hard disk:

1. After you copy the QuickTime move to the hard disk, open the
   presentation that contains the QuickTime movie.

2. On the View menu, click Slide View and view the slide on which the
   QuickTime movie is placed.

3. Click the QuickTime movie object once to select it, and then click Cut
   on the Edit menu.

4. On the Insert menu, point to Movies And Sounds and then click Movie
   From File. If you are using PowerPoint 4.0, click Movie on the Insert
   menu.

5. Select the QuickTime movie on the hard disk and ten click Insert.

This procedure ensures that the movie will play from the hard disk rather
than the compact disc.
