SUMMARY
=======

When coloring a sequence, you will find it easier to begin by coloring all
of the small areas. Then finish with the multi-rectangular-fill option.
This technique can be especially useful if the last color to apply is an
area divided into many small areas. Refer to the Softimage Toonz Tutorial
for an example that paints spots on a cow's back. The more small areas that
are involved, the more efficient this technique will be.

MORE INFORMATION
================

This technique involves applying all colors except one. The remaining color
is then applied by using the multi-rectangular-fill option under Paint in
the Inknpaint module of Toonz.

1. Plan out the painting sequence in advance. Examine the sequence, and
   determine which areas will require most of the work. Leave this area to
   paint last.

2. Paint the sequence as you normally would, but leave the most difficult
   color for last (as determined in step 1).

3. Save your work.

4. Activate "selective" under paint in Inknpaint in order to protect the
   colors you have already applied.

5. Click "multifill" to activate the multi-rectangular-fill option.

6. Go to the first drawing by clicking within the film strip. Using the
   mouse, draw a rectangle large enough to include all sections of your
   drawing. Then go to the last drawing and draw another rectangle with
   your mouse. When you've finished, Toonz will automatically fill any
   closed areas.

7. Do the necessary clean-up. This usually involves areas where Toonz may
   have closed the spaces between areas that should not have been combined,
   such as the space between the cow's legs.

NOTE: It is important to save your work before using this method (step 3)
and choose "selective" (step 4) before using this technique.
