 - Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 5.0
--------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

If you copy a Microsoft Excel 5.0 object and paste it into PowerPoint, the
object will appear on the slide much larger than expected. The fonts may
look as though they have tripled in size.

NOTE: This behavior does not occur when using Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh
Edition.

CAUSE
=====

This problem occurs if a LaserWriter 300 series printer driver was selected
as the default printer driver when you embedded the object.

RESOLUTION
==========

Use the following steps to switch the type of print driver, and then re-
import the Microsoft Excel object:

1. On the Apple menu, click Chooser.

2. Select a different printer driver. (If one is available, select one of
   the drivers listed in the "More Information" section at the end of this
   article.)

3. Close the Chooser.

   You should see the following message:

      You have changed your current printer. Please choose "Page Setup..."
      in all of the open applications.

4. Click OK.

5. Switch to PowerPoint.

6. Remove the original Microsoft Excel object.

7. Re-import the Microsoft Excel object.

The Microsoft Excel object will now be displayed as expected.
