SYMPTOMS
========
 
If you copy an object from Word version 6.0 that was created using the Word
drawing tools (Ellipse, Line, Rectangle, Arc, Freeform, Text Box, or
Callout), and if you paste this object into a PowerPoint presentation, the
object will not appear in PowerPoint.
 
In addition, the clipboard will be empty (that is, the copied object is not
available in the clipboard).
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
To copy the drawing object, use the following steps:
 
1. Open the Word document that contains the object.
 
2. Select the object, and click Copy on the Edit menu.
 
3. Do not close Word (you can hide it if you want to).
 
4. Start (or switch to) PowerPoint.
 
5. On the Edit menu, click Paste.
 
The drawing object will appear.
