SYMPTOMS
========

When you try to run Setup for the CD-ROM version of Microsoft Money
for Windows 95, you may not be able to enter the entire CD Key into
the message box. You might receive a message that the CD Key number is
invalid, or only one digit of three will fit in the first input box.

In addition, you may not be able to enter the Product ID Number from
the Certificate of Authenticity with an OEM version of Money.

RESOLUTION
==========

It has been found that a missing or corrupt MS Sans Serif font can
cause this behavior. To correct this behavior use one of the following
methods:

Method 1
--------

Use the ACME setup /k command switch to enter the CD Key.

NOTE: The setup /k command will not work for the Product Id Number, so
you will have to reinstall the MS Sans Serif font. See Method 2 below.

To use the /k switch to enter the CD Key, do the following:

1. Insert the compact disc.

2. Click the Start button and then click Run.

3. Enter the following and then click OK:

      d:\setup /k"<keynumbers>"

where <keynumbers> are your CD Key numbers. Do not enter dashes or
   other characters)

For example, if your CD Key is 123-4567890, enter the following and
   then click OK.

      d:\setup /k"1234567890"

NOTE: You must include the quotation marks.

Method 2
--------

Manually reinstall the MS San Serif font from your Windows 95 disks or
compact disc. To reinstall the San Serif font, do the following:

1. Remove MS San Serif from your hard drive using the following steps:

   a. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

   b. Double-click the Fonts folder.

   c. Click MS Sans Serif.

   d. On the File menu, click Delete.

   e. When you are asked if you are sure you want to delete the fonts,
      click Yes.

NOTE: To uninstall a font without removing it from the hard drive,
move the font from the Fonts folder into another folder. You can
use Windows Explorer to drag the font from the Fonts folder into
another folder. For more information on moving files, click Start,
and then click Help. Use the Index tab to find topics relating to
   moving by drag and drop.

2. Expand and install a new MS Sans Serif font using these steps:

   a. Click Start and then click Run. Type the following line and click
      OK

         extract /l c:\windows d:\win95\mini.cab sserife.fon

(Where d:\ is the CD-ROM drive and c:\windows is the location of
      Windows 95.)

   b. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

   c. Double-click the Fonts folder.

   d. On the File menu, click Install New Font.

   e. Double-click MS Sans Serif 8,10,12,14,18,24(VGA res).

   f. Restart the computer.

Run Setup again to confirm that you are able to enter the CD Key
successfully.

MORE INFORMATION
