 - Microsoft Windows NT 3.51

SYMPTOMS
========

When you import files into Money for Windows 95 running under Windows NT version
3.51, you may receive the following error message:

   Money cannot locate '<Long folder name>' or cannot open it, possibly
   because it is a read-only file. You can change the read-only attribute in the
   Windows Explorer. If you have chosen the correct file and it cannot be
   accessed, you will need to open your most recent backup file.

CAUSE
=====

This problem occurs if the location of the file or files you are trying to
import are in a folder that contains spaces in its name.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, use either of the following methods.

Method 1
--------

In File Manager in Windows NT, on the File Menu, click Rename and remove the
spaces from the name of the folder.

For example, change:

   C:\My long folder

   to

   C:\Mylongfolder

Method 2
--------

In the Money for Windows 95 Import dialog box, specify the folder by using the
MS-DOS naming convention. Follow the steps below:

1. In the File Name box, type the first six letters of the folder name replacing
   the *.qif text.

2. Type a tilde (~), and then the number one.

3. Type a backslash (\), and then type the file name.

For example, change:

   C:\My long folder\Filename.qif

   to

   C:\Mylong~1\Filename.qif
