MORE INFORMATION
================

The NMEA (National Maritime Electronics Association) has created a GPS
standard that is used by most GPS receiver manufacturers. As of November
1995, the current NMEA specification is version 1.083 rev. 2.0. This
version is common throughout the GPS community. Apollo, Garmin, and other
manufacturers adhere to this standard.

Unfortunately, because the Automap GPS application was written prior to
this specification, Automap lacks support for NMEA-compliant
GPS receivers.

NOTE: The Canadian Marconi NMEA driver included with the GPS application
does not work with any other NMEA receivers. Marconi uses a proprietary
NMEA sentencing that does not conform to the NMEA standard protocols.

The third-party products discussed here are manufactured by vendors
independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise,
regarding these products' performance or reliability.
