This problem is usually due to a low memory situation.

RESOLUTION
==========

Allocate more memory to PowerPoint. The following steps illustrate how to
do this:

1. Open the Microsoft PowerPoint folder.

2. Click once on the Microsoft PowerPoint icon to select it.

3. On the File menu, click Get Info.

4. Add 1024K to the value in the Preferred Size text box by highlighting
   the Preferred Size text area and typing in the new value.

5. Click the Close box in the upper-left corner of the Get Info window.

6. Start PowerPoint and display the slide show that contains the
   transitions and builds.

The transitions and builds should now display as expected.
