SUMMARY

This article describes how to manually integrate Word 2.0 for Windows
and Bookshelf for Windows, 1993 Edition.
 
Note: This process normally happens automatically when you run
Bookshelf Setup after Word has been installed.
 
MORE INFORMATION
================
 
These instructions assume:
 
 - Your hard disk is drive C
 
 - Your destination folder (directory) is C:\Books93
 
 - Your Windows folder is C:\Windows
 
 - Your Word for Windows folder is C:\Winword
 
 - Your CD-ROM drive is drive D
 
If your hard drive, destination folder, Windows folder,
Winword folder or CD-ROM drive letters are different,
replace the drive letters and folder names throughout this
article with the drive letters and folder names on your
computer.
 
NOTE: The following instructions discuss copying, editing, and
modifying files and folders. For more information about accomplishing
these tasks in Windows, see your Windows printed documentation or
online Help.
 
1. Copy the following files from D:\Word to C:\Windows\System:
 
   Ftengine.dll
   Ftui.dll
   Mvapi.dll
 
2. Copy D:\Viewer\Bs93word\Bookshlf.dll to C:\Windows\System.
 
3. Copy the following files from D:\Viewer\Bs93word\ to C:\Winword:
 
   82tbar.bmp
   Bshelf93.dot
   Ddeapp.exe
   V2tbar.bmp
   Worddde.dat
 
4. After you copy these files to the hard drive, you need to remove
   the Read Only attribute for the Bshelf93.dot file.
 
   NOTE: If this file remains Read Only, the macro will not work.
 
   To remove the Read Only attribute, use the instructions below:
 
   Windows 3.x and Windows NT
   --------------------------
 
   a. Open Windows File Manager.
 
   b. In the C:\Winword folder, select the Bshelf93.dot file.
 
   c. On the File menu, click Properties.
 
   d. In the Attributes area, clear the Read-Only check box.
 
   e. Click OK.
 
   Windows 95
   ----------
 
   a. With your right mouse button, click Start.
 
   b. Click Explore.
 
   b. Double-click the C:\Winword folder.
 
   c. With your right mouse button click the Bshelf93.dot file, and
      then click Properties.
 
   d. Clear the box for the Read-Only attribute, and then click OK.
 
5. Start Microsoft Word for Windows.
 
6. On the File menu, click Open. Type the following in the filename
   Edit Box, and then press the Enter key:
 
      bshelf94.dot
 
7. On the Tools menu, click Macro. In the Macro dialog box, click
   Template Macros.
 
8. From the Macro dialog box, click wabSetup and then click Run. (This
   macro will copy the list of macros to the Normal.dot file and
   inserts the Bookshelf icon on the toolbar.)
 
9. Exit Word and when you are asked if you want to save global
   glossary and command changes, click Yes.
 
10. Use a text editor, such as Microsoft Notepad, to make the
    following changes to the Win.ini file, which is located in the
    Windows folder:
 
    [Bookshelf]
    Bookspath=D:\BOOKS
    Viewerpath=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MVIEWER2
    Integration=2
    SendToDlg=1
    HelpFile=C:\WINWORD\WINWORD.HLP
 
    [Microsoft Word 2.0]
    programdir=C:\WINWORD
 
Integration is now complete.
