The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft PowerPoint for the Macintosh, version 4.0
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOM
=======

If you run your presentation on a computer that has only the Microsoft
PowerPoint Viewer installed, you may find your bullets or other symbols
have changed.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs when the font you originally used for symbols or
bullets is not available on the current computer. Many of the PowerPoint
templates use Monotype Sorts for bullets. This font is supplied with
PowerPoint but may not be present on a computer that doesn't have
PowerPoint installed.

RESOLUTION
==========

PowerPoint for Macintosh does not support TrueType font embedding the way
PowerPoint for Windows does. Therefore, to work around the problem, you
must do one of the following:

 - Install the font on the other computer using PowerPoint Setup.

 - Copy the font out of the System:Fonts folder to the same folder on
   the other computer.

 - Use a font for the bullets other than Monotype Sorts--a normal text
   bullet, for example.
