The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Project for Windows 95, version 4.1
--------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

In Microsoft Project, if you click rapidly more than once on a Microsoft
Note-It picture that has been embedded in a Gantt Chart, Microsoft Project
will appear to stop responding.

CAUSE
=====

Activating the Note-It application from Microsoft Project for Windows 95
takes longer than usual. Double-clicking rapidly stores the mouse actions
and attempts to read the Note-It message -- only very slowly. Thus, mouse
actions get back logged and it appears as if Microsoft Project is not
responding.

Given enough time, Microsoft Project will again respond. At any time,
however, you can switch out of Microsoft Project to another task.

WORKAROUND
==========

Instead of quickly double-clicking the Note-It picture, click the picture
once and click Microsoft Note-It Object from the Edit menu and click Read
or Edit on the cascading menu. Alternatively, click the picture with your
secondary mouse button and click Edit or Read from the shortcut menu. In
all cases, you'll have to wait a moment before any action appears to
happen.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed
at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and
will post more information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
