-------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

When you start to install Road Atlas version 4.0, you receive
the following error message:

   Cannot Run Program

   There is not enough memory to start the specific application. Quit
   one or more applications, and then try again.

   OK

When you click OK, you are returned to the screen where you started
the Setup program.

CAUSE
=====

The floppy disk drive is unable to properly read the floppy disk.

RESOLUTION
==========

Try one of the following:

 - Attempt to copy the files to the local hard disk drive and run Setup
   from the folder containing the disk contents.

   -or-

 - Try to run Setup on a different computer. This verifies that the problem
   is related to the floppy disk drive.

MORE INFORMATION
================

If you receive the error message, create a folder named Test and
attempt to copy the contents of disk 1 to the Test folder. A fault
with the floppy disk drive produces the error message:

   Sector not found reading Drive A:
   Abort Retry Fail

When a program floppy disk is created by the software manufacturer, the
read/write head on the production equipment is aligned almost perfectly to
Track 0. Not all floppy disk drives are capable of reading a floppy disk
perfectly aligned to Track 0.

Usually the variance is not a problem between manufacturing equipment and
floppy disk drives because a tolerance level and deviation from Track 0 is
expected. However, if the floppy disk drive read/write head is out of
alignment, skewed (having no right angle), or the azimuth (arc relative to
the horizontal distance between two points) is out of adjustment, the
failure occurs.

Read/write heads that are worn or out of calibration cause "head drift."
The heads fail to read the sector identification marks placed on the disk
during formatting. The result is that the controller and drive become
"lost" when they try to read from the disk.
