SUMMARY
=======
 
This article provides the steps necessary to accomplish the following tasks
in Money version 3.0:
 
 - Permanently cancel an automatic payment (Apay) in Future Transactions.
 
 - Cancel scheduled automatic payment (Apay) instruction in the Account
   Book if the Apay instruction has already been received from Online
   Services.
 
 - Cancel an electronic payment (Epay) instruction in the Account Book if
   the Epay instruction has already been sent to Online Services.
 
 - Send a letter or inquiry to Online Services.
 
NOTE: If you want to change an existing automatic payment or electronic
payment, you will need to cancel the original instructions and create new
instructions.

To cancel all future occurrences of an Automatic Payment (Apay)
---------------------------------------------------------------
 
1. In Money, on the Window menu, click Future Transactions.
 
2. Click to select the transaction you want to cancel.
 
3. On the Edit menu, click Void Transaction.
 
   You then receive the following message:
 
      Do you want to permanently cancel the Automatic Payment?
 
      If you choose Yes, Money will cancel it during your next connection.
 
      If this payment is already scheduled in the Account Book you can
      prevent it from being paid by voiding it there.
 
4. In response to this message, click Yes.
 
Money displays **VOID** in the amount field and a lightning bolt appears in
the number field. This indicates that there is a pending instruction to
cancel all future occurrences of the Apay.
 
To void any scheduled Apays in the Account Book
-----------------------------------------------
 
NOTE: You can cancel any scheduled payment up until four business days
before it is scheduled to be paid.
 
1. In Money, on the Window menu, click either Account Book or Account
   Forms.
 
2. In the Account Book or Account Forms window, select the scheduled
   payment transaction you want to cancel.
 
   NOTE: The transaction will have a check number preceded by the letter A
   in the Number field.
 
3. On the Edit menu, click Void Transaction.
 
   You receive the following message:
 
      Do you want to cancel this scheduled Automatic Payment?
 
      If you choose Yes, Money will cancel this one payment during your
      next connection.
 
      To permanently cancel this Automatic Payment, you must void it in the
      Future Transactions window.
 
4. In response to this message, click Yes.

the number field. This indicates that there is a pending instruction to
cancel this scheduled occurrence of the Apay.
 
5. To send cancellation instructions to Online Services, do the following:
 
   a. On the On-Line menu, click Pay On-Line.
 
   b. Click the Call button and send the cancel instructions.
 
   This permanently cancels the Automatic Payment(Apay).
 
To cancel an Epay instruction
-----------------------------
 
Canceling an Epay instruction is a 2 step process; first, you need to void
the Epay transaction in the Account Book, and then you need to send the
cancellation instructions to Online Services. You can cancel an Epay up
until four business days before it is scheduled to be paid.
 
To void the Epay in the Account Book, use the following steps:
 
1. On the Window menu, click either Account Book or Account Forms.
 
2. In the Account Book or the Account Forms window, select the scheduled
   payment transaction you want to cancel.
 
   NOTE: The transaction will have a check number preceded by the letter E
   in the Number field.
 
3. On the Edit menu, click Void Transaction.
 
4. You receive the following message:
 
      This transaction is scheduled to be paid by On-Line Services. Do you
      want to create an instruction for On-Line Services to cancel it?
 
5. In response to this message, click Yes.
 
Money displays **VOID** in the amount field and a lightning bolt appears in
the number field. This indicates that there is a pending instruction to
cancel this scheduled occurrence of the Apay.
 
To send the cancellation instructions to Online Services, do the following:
 
1. On the On-Line menu, click Pay On-Line.
 
2. Click the Call button and send the cancel instructions.
 
   This permanently cancels the Electronic Payment (Epay).
 
To send a letter or inquiry to Online Services
----------------------------------------------
 
If you have questions about a payment, you should send an e-mail letter to
your bank or Online Services. To do so, follow these steps:
 
1. On the On-Line menu, click Pay On-Line.
 
2. Click the Inquiry button.
 
3. Click the General Purpose Letter option at the top of the dialog window.
   Type in the desired text for subject and body of the letter.
 
4. Click the OK button.
 
5. Click the Call button to send the letter to On-Line Services.
