SUMMARY
=======

When you attempt to insert a picture in Bob Letter Writer with Picture
Picker, you may receive the error message:

   I can't add that picture!
   It's format is strange to me. I can't make it out.

   I can add pictures in bitmap (.bmp) and other
   common graphic formats. Try converting your
   picture to another format then adding it again.

This message occurs if you try to insert a bitmap that contains
more than 256 colors. The Bob Picture Picker cannot not read bitmap
files with more than 256 colors.

MORE INFORMATION
================

To insert a picture that contains more than 256 colors you must convert it
to another format. The Picture Picker will import the following formats:

  Tagged Image Format (.tif).
  Windows Metafile (.wmf).
  Bitmap (.bmp) - must be 256 colors or less.
  Computer Graphics Metafile (.cgm).
  PC Paintbrush (.pcx).

To convert a picture to one of these formats you must use a graphics
program capable of exporting one of these formats. Paint in Windows 95 and
Paintbrush in Windows 3.1 will convert bitmaps to 256 color bitmaps. If you
scanned the image, re-scan the image using 256 colors.

To convert a picture to one of these formats, do the following:

6. Type a new name for the file to keep the
   old picture.
