SYMPTOMS
========
 
When you start Microsoft Money, you receive one of the following error
messages:
 
   This program has performed an illegal operation and will be
   shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
 
   -or-
 
   Msmoney caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll.
 
   -or-
 
   Msmoney caused an invalid page fault in module Tapi32.dll.
 
   -or-
 
   Money is unable to load the file '<path> <Xsxxx>.dll.' Either
   the file is missing or your system is low on memory. First,
   try closing some other applications. If this doesn't work, you
   may need to reinstall Money from your original product disks.
 
where <Xsxxx>.dll is one of the following:
 
   Xsnpc.dll
   Xsisc.dll
   Xsmsn.dll
   Xsofc.dll
   Xsvsa.dll
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
To resolve these error messages, follow these steps:
 
1. Make sure the Drivers= line in the [Boot] section of the System.ini
   contains Mmsystem.dll.
 
2. Make sure the following files exist only in the correct location,
   and have the correct date and size
 
   File            Location                  Date          Size (bytes)
   ----            --------                  ----          ------------
 
   Tapi32.dll      C:\Windows\System         7/11/95          11,776
   Toolhelp.dll    C:\Windows\System         7/11/95          12,112
 
   where C is the letter of your hard disk drive.
 
Additional Troubleshooting Steps
--------------------------------
 
If the resolution does not end the error messages, one or more of the
files listed in the resolution section could be corrupted.
 
To resolve this problem, extract another copy of the files from your
Windows 95 programs disks or compact disc and replace the files.
 
Extracting Files
----------------
 
To extract the files, use the instructions below for your CD-ROM or
floppy disks.
 
NOTE: The following instructions assume:
 
 - Your floppy drive is drive A
 
 - Your hard disk drive is drive C
 
 - Your CD-ROM drive is drive D
 
 - You installed Windows 95 in C:\Windows
 
Compact Disc:
 
1. Click the Start button, and then click Run.
 
2. In the Open box, type the following command and click OK:
 
      extract /l c:\windows\system d:\win95\win95_03.cab toolhelp.dll
 
3. When that file extracts, type the following command in the Open box
   and click OK:
 
      extract /l c:\windows\system d:\win95\win95_11.cab tapi32.dll
 
Floppy Disks:
 
1. Insert Disk 4 into your floppy drive.
 
2. Click the Start button, and then click Run.
 
3. Type the following command in the Open box:
 
      extract /l c:\windows\system a:\win95_04.cab toolhelp.dll
 
4. When that file extracts, type the following command in the Open box
   and click OK:
 
      extract /l c:\windows\system a:\win95_11.cab tapi32.dll
