Because of physical read limitations of some CD-ROM drives, some files
and folders on the Microsoft Dangerous Creatures for the Macintosh, compact
disc may be inaccessible from your CD-ROM drive. This article lists those
files and tells how to test your CD-ROM drive.

MORE INFORMATION
================

The CD-ROM drive may have difficulty reading a file located on the
CD-ROM disc. The file is:

   File Location on Disc
   ---- ----------------

   Microsoft Dangerous Creatures 597 MB

Note: The Dangerous Creatures CD-ROM contains 597 MB of data. The
final file on the CD-ROM is Microsoft Dangerous Creatures.

Testing Your CD-ROM Drive
-------------------------

The CD-ROM drive may have difficulty reading files located on the
outer portion, or track, of the compact disc. To test for specific drive-
capacity limitations, do the following:

1. Insert the Dangerous Creatures disc into the CD-ROM drive.

2. Open the Dangerous Creatures disc.

3. Drag the following file to your hard drive icon.

      Microsoft Dangerous Creatures

If the following error message appears while copying any file, then your
CD-ROM drive cannot read the disc at the specified location:

The file <file name> couldn't be read, because a disk error occurred.
Do you want to continue copying?

where <file name> is the name of the file you are copying.

If the file does copy, compare its size with the file on the compact disc.

Comparing File Size Information
-------------------------------

1. Locate the file on the compact disc.

2. Click the file one time.

3. On the File Menu, click Get Info.

4. Note the number of Bytes Used shown on the Size line.

5. Repeat the above procedure with the file that was copied to the hard
   drive.

The number of bytes used should be the same for both files. If the
number of bytes is different, then the CD-ROM drive is having problems
reading the compact disc.

For additional information about drive limitations, contact your CD-ROM
drive manufacturer.
