SYMPTOM
=======

When you attempt to save a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation as a Scrapbook
file, you may receive a message similar to the following:

   Sorry <file name> cannot be opened because part of it is missing.

This problem may occur if the Scrapbook file PowerPoint is attempting to
create exceeds the Scrapbook resource size limit.

RESOLUTION
==========

To work around the size limit of a Scrapbook file, use the following method
to split up the presentation into smaller files:

1. Open the presentation you want to save as a Scrapbook file.

   This presentation will be referred to as the Source presentation.

2. On the File menu, click New.

   This creates a new presentation.

3. In the New Presentation dialog box, click Current Presentation Format.

   This process will create a new presentation that uses the master of
   the Source presentation.

4. Switch both presentations to Slide Sorter view.

5. Select some slides in the Source presentation. Hold down the SHIFT
   key and click the slides you want to copy.

6. On the File menu, click Copy.

   If you receive any memory-related error messages when you follow steps 5
   and 6, repeat step 5 and reduce the number of selected slides.

7. Paste these slides into the new presentation.

Try saving the new presentation as a Scrapbook file. Repeat this process
until all slides are saved in the Scrapbook format.
