SYMPTOMS
========
 
When you attempt to use online services to download a statement or send a
payment, you may receive one of the following error messages:
 
 - There was a problem with the file being received from Online Services. Please
   call Online Services Customer Support.
 - An unexpected error has occurred. Please call Online Services Customer
   Support.
 - An unexpected error has occurred. Please try your call again, and if this
   message repeats, call Online Services Customer Support.

CAUSE
=====
 
This behavior can occur if the send or receive file for the online services
session is damaged or not formatted properly.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
If you receive one of these error messages when you send an electronic payment
to Online Services, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge
Base:

If you receive one of these error messages when you attempt to download a bank
statement, determine which account causes the problem by narrowing the focus to
one account at a time.
 
To narrow the focus to one account, use the appropriate method for your version
of Money.
 
Money 98
--------
 
1. Test if you can send just an e-mail letter to your bank. Do not send any
   other instructions at this time.
 
   a. With your right mouse button, right-click each of the instructions under
      Connect in the Online Banking area.
 
   b. Click Don't Send On Next Call.
 
   c. Repeat steps A-B for each instruction until they are all unavailable
      (grayed out).
 
   d. Create a test letter and send it to Online Services.
 
2. Send a Get Statement And Latest Balance request for one account only.
   Determine if this account works successfully.
 
   a. With your right mouse button, right-click each instruction Under Connect
      in the Online Banking area.
 
   b. Click Don't Send On Next Call.
 
   c. Repeat steps A-B until only one Get Statement and Latest Balance
      instruction remains to be sent.
 
NOTE: Don't click any additional buttons if you receive one of the error messages
listed at the top of this article. Collect the communication file created by
Money before you proceed. For additional information, see the "More Information"
section later in this article.
 
3. Step through each enabled account sequentially, repeating step 2 with a
   different account until you have determined which accounts are functioning
   properly. Collect the communication files from any accounts that return
   errors.
 
These files should be reviewed by technical support representatives to determine
the source of the problem. Follow the steps outlined in the "More Information"
section. Contact your bank for further instructions.
 
Money 5.0 and 4.0
-----------------

      1 of the Online Services area. In Money 5.0, these instructions are on the

MORE INFORMATION
================
 
When you initiate an Online Services session, Money creates a Send file and a
Receive file. Normally, these files are deleted when you finish the online
services session. For troubleshooting this issue, it is important to collect the
Receive file before it is deleted. Use the Windows Explorer to search for and
