SYMPTOMS
========

When you double-click a specific record in List view, Data view always
shows the first record, instead of the specified record's data.

CAUSE
=====

This problem occurs if a new field was added to the database that does not
exist in the form.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, do either of the following:

NOTE: For the purposes of this article, we will refer to the newly added
field as "New One".

RESOLUTION 1: Add the "New One" field to the form:
--------------------------------------------------

1. Open your database and switch to Design view.

2. On the Insert menu, click Field

3. Select the "New One" field, and then click Insert Field.

4. Click Done.

Now when you double-click on a specific record in List View, data for the
specified record will be displayed in Data View.

RESOLUTION 2: Add the "New One" field from Design View:
-------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: Because the problem occurs due to a newly added field, you will need
to delete this field. If there is information in this field, copy the
field's data into a spreadsheet first then delete the field from the
database. After deleting the field, follow these steps:

1. Open your database and switch to Design view.

2. From the Insert Menu, click Field.

3. Click New Field, enter a name for your new field, "New One," and then
   click OK.

4. In the Insert Fields dialog box, click Close.

5. From the View menu, click List View. The "New One" field will be added
   to your database. You can now enter new data or paste new data into
   this field.

Now when you double-click on a specific record in List View, data for the
specified record will be displayed in Data View.

MORE INFORMATION
================

This problem occurs when you add fields to a database after you've created
a form. Forms created prior to the new field need to have the new field
added. If instead you added the field from Design View (as detailed above),
this problem will not occur.
