SUMMARY
=======

If you use Microsoft Money Online Banking, you can transfer funds
between your bank accounts electronically. On rare occasions, this
transfer may appear to go in the wrong direction.

If you experience this when transferring money between online bank
accounts, verify that the transfer transaction is entered correctly in
Money before calling your bank. This article describes the steps
necessary to do this.

If you determine that the transaction was entered correctly in the
Account Register, but find that the transfer went in the wrong
direction when entered by your bank, contact your bank's online
support.

MORE INFORMATION
================

For information about how to correctly enter an Electronic Funds
Transfer (Xfer), please see the following article in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base:

   ARTICLE-ID: Q147895
TITLE : Money: How to Enter an Xfer and Setup Xfer Reminders

NOTE: It is best to enter an Xfer in the account register of the online
account from which you want to transfer funds.

To verify that an existing transaction was created correctly, use the
following steps for your version of Money:

Money for Windows 95
--------------------

1. Click the transaction in the Account Register of the online
account out of which you are transferring funds.

2. Check to see that the Transfer tab is selected. It appears in
bold letters in the foreground when selected.

3. The From box contains the name of the account from which the funds
   are transferred.

4. The To box contains the name of the account to which the funds are
   transferred.

5. The Pay To box is optional. It may be used to indicate a payee
or description of the transaction for your records or for
   reporting purposes.

6. The Amount box should contain a positive number.

NOTE: A negative number, including a number within parenthesis,
causes the transfer to go in the opposite direction.

7. In the Account Register, the transaction amount appears in the
Payment column, not the Deposit field. An amount in the Deposit
column causes the transfer to go in the opposite direction.

If you have edited your transaction in the Online Services area of
Money 4.0, and it went in the wrong direction, please see the
following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

   ARTICLE-ID: Q152810
TITLE : Money Xfer: Funds Transferred in the Wrong Direction

Money Version 3.0
-----------------

1. Click the transaction in the Account Book to select it for editing.

2. Click the Transfer To or Transfer From field.

3. A Transfer To transaction lists the amount in the Payment column.
A Transfer From transaction lists the amount in the Deposit
   column.

NOTE: A Transfer To transaction transfers money from the account
you are currently in to the account listed to the right of the
Transfer field. A Transfer From transaction transfers money from
the account listed to the right of the Transfer field and to the
   account you are currently in.

4. If you have not yet sent the Xfer instructions to Online Services,
you can change the transfer so that it goes in the opposite
direction by deleting the amount from the Payment or Deposit
column and entering it in the other column.
