 - Microsoft Bob, versions 1.0, 1.0a

SYMPTOMS
========

All the Bob programs except Calendar may return error messages when you
try to start them.

Household Manager, Financial Guide, and Bob E-Mail do not start when
you double-click them. The pointer briefly changes to an hourglass and then
back to the arrow.

When you try to start GeoSafari you see this message:

   GeoSafari for Bob! Object variable not set.

When you try to start Bob Address Book you see this message:

   The Address Book experienced an error (Error #91) during startup.
   please check your installation and try again. Bob Error # 0

When you try to start Bob Letter Writer you see this message:

   Bob Letter Writer
   I'm terribly sorry, but something has gone wrong, and I need to
   shut down the Letter Writer. You should probably close all apps,
   exit Windows, and then restart your computer. Usually, restarting
   your computer helps a lot.

CAUSE
=====

Bob Setup did not complete succesfully; the cause is unknown.

RESOLUTION
==========

Reinstalling Bob will not resolve this problem unless Bob is removed
first. Two Bob files need to be re-registered.

To re-register Bob, do the following:

Windows 95
----------

1. Exit Bob.

2. Click the Start button, point to Find, click Files or Folders.

3. Type the following the the Named box and then click Find Now:

      u*.reg

4. Double-click Utopia.reg and Utopiawa.reg. You will see a message
   indicating successful registration.

Windows 3.1
-----------

1. Exit Bob.

2. Open File Manager, usually located in the Main group in Program
   Manager.

3. On the File menu, click Search

4. Type the following in the Search For box, and then click OK:

      u*.reg

5. Double-click Utopia.reg and Utopiawa.reg. You will see a message
   indicating successful registration.
