SYMPTOMS
========

An unwieldy number of palettes results if a main palette is not either
linked or copied to make one main palette per character in Toonz. Without a
main palette, all the extra palettes are generated automatically as levels
are created in the Input module as it scans in images and processes them.

CAUSE
=====

By design, a palette is created in the Input module of Toonz every time
Toonz creates a level (scans in an image and processes it).

In production, there are often many palettes generated this way per
character per scene. Many levels may be created by the Input module per
character per scene depending on script requirements of levels per
character.

RESOLUTION
==========

Each character requires only one main palette that can be used throughout
the scene and, moreover, throughout the episode.

Create a main palette for the character, and either copy or link the main
palette to the name given to the levels that represent the character either
at the time of Input or anytime thereafter.

STATUS
======

This behavior is by design.
