SYMPTOMS
========
 
When you try to use the spelling checker in Works 4.0, you may receive one
of the following error messages:
 
   Speller Not Available
 
   -Or-
 
   Please Locate Spelling
 
   -Or-
 
   Please Locate Speller Dictionary
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
Please Locate Spelling
----------------------
 
The message, Please Locate Spelling, is requesting the location of the
file, MS Spelling 2.
 
By default, MS Spelling 2 is installed to the following folder:
 
   Hard Drive: Microsoft: MS Spelling 2
 
Use the dialog box to locate the MS Spelling 2 file. Look for the file
name, MS Spelling 2, listed in the dialog box of the Microsoft folder.
 
Please Locate Speller Dictionary

After closing the Please Locate Spelling dialog box, the Please Locate
Speller Dictionary dialog box asks for the location of the spelling
dictionary (for example, English Dictionary).
 
By default, the file, English Dictionary, is installed in the following
folder:
 
   Hard Drive: Microsoft: English Dictionary
 
Speller Not Available

Works is unable to find the spelling files. To manually locate the spelling
files do the following:
 
   1. On the Tools Menu, click Preferences.
 
   2. Click Spelling & Thesaurus.
 
   3. Press COMMAND and the Change button.
 
   4. Locate the file, "MS Spelling 2", using the dialog box.
 
   5. Locate the Speller dictionary( for example, English dictionary).
 
   6. Run the spelling tool.
 
      NOTE: After verifying the spelling dictionary is functioning
      properly, use the Maintenance option in Works Setup to update or
      replace other tools.
 
MORE INFORMATION
================
 
The above messages may occur if the Registration Database or spelling files
have been moved, deleted, or damaged. The Registration database contains
information about the location of shared components which are available to
OLE capable programs.
