SUMMARY
=======

Urestore creates backup files for Bob. It searches for a file called
Timestmp (note that the file does not have an extension) in the
\Msbob\Backup folder. If timestmp is missing or corrupt, you must restore
your backup files by copying them manually.

RESOLUTION
==========

To manually restore the files created by Bob during a Backup use the
procedure below. This assumes your Windows folder is C:\Windows and your
Bob folder is C:\Msbob. A version of the files you are copying already
exist in the destination folders, so choose Yes when prompted to overwrite
existing files.

To manually restore the files do the following:

1. Exit Bob.

2. If you are using Windows version 3.1 or 3.11, exit Windows.
   If you are using Windows 95, Click the Start button, point to Programs
   and click MSDOS Prompt.

3. Change to the C:\Msbob folder.

4. Change to the C:\Msbob\Backup folder, type the following
   and press ENTER:

      Copy *.* C:\Msbob

5. If you are using Windows 95, go to step 7

6. Change to the C:\Msbob\Backup\~~win~~\Mapi folder, type
   the following and press ENTER:

      Copy *.* c:\windows\mapi

7. Change to the C:\Msbob\Backup\address folder, type the
   following and press ENTER:

      Copy *.* C:\Msbob\Address

8. Change to the C:\Msbob\Backup\chkbook folder, type the
   following and press ENTER:

      Copy *.* C:\Msbob\Chkbook

9. Change to the C:\Msbob \Backup\Mailroom folder, type the
   following and press ENTER:

      Copy *.* C:\Msbob\Mailroom

10. Change to the C:\Msbob\Backup\Notebook\Finance folder,
    type the following and press ENTER:

       Copy *.* C:\Msbob\Notebook\Finance

11. Change to the C:\Msbob\Backup\Notebook\Home folder,
    type the following and press ENTER:

       Copy *.* C:\Msbob\Notebook\Home

12. Change to the C:\Msbob\Backup\Safari folder, type the
    following and press ENTER:

       Copy *.* C:\Msbob\Safari

13. If you are running Windows 3.1 or 3.11, type, win at the
    MS-DOS command prompt. If you are running Windows 95, type, exit
    at the MS-DOS command prompt.

MORE INFORMATION
================

The only way to copy all of the files to floppy disks is to use a program
that saves a file on multiple floppy disks. Microsoft includes Msbackup
with MS-DOS versions 6.0 and later. Windows 95 includes a Backup program
under Accessories, System Tools. You must use one of these utilities
because all of the files will not fit on a single floppy disk.

For more information on backup and restore, see pages 26-27 of
your Bob Handbook.
