SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel, if the vertical alignment of a cell is set to center, the screen may be incorrectly redrawn and the text within the cell may be shifted vertically up or down a very small amount.

Workaround

To realign the text in the cell, repaginate the worksheet by scroll up or down through the text of your document; to do this, press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN or use the scroll bars.

MORE INFORMATION

If you format a cell to have vertical center alignment, any text you enter into the cell will be centered correctly within the cell. However, if you reapply the vertical centering to the same cell, the text may shift up or down slightly from the center of the cell. Because the repositioning of the text is extremely slight (approximately one pixel), this problem will be more noticeable if you are using a lower-resolution video display.
