OmniBook .EXE Files on Flash ROM Are Not Visible |
The Hewlett-Packard (HP) OmniBook 300 contains .EXE files on the Flash
read-only memory (ROM). These files are not visible and are not hidden
by the MS-DOS ATTRIB command. This is actually a functionality of the
Flash ROM implementation.
You may find this confusing if you try to re-create the product icons
in the Program Object Item dialog box in Program Manager. If you do
this, you cannot find the .EXE file from which to re-create the icons.
To re-create an icon using the version of Windows supplied with the
OmniBook 300, you must manually type the name of the .EXE file. From
the File menu in Program Manager, choose New, select Program Item, and
then type the command line in the New Program Item dialog box.
For example, to create an icon for Microsoft Excel, type the
following:
EXCEL.EXEPath information is not necessary.
