The ascending sort order in Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh is incorrectly described on page 312 of "User's Guide 1." The character sort order for Microsoft Excel for Windows is shown with a note underneath that explains the differences in the Macintosh version. This note states that the text values [ through ~ and @ are sorted after alphabetic characters. This information is incorrect. The opening square bracket ([) through the tilde (~) are sorted after alphabetic characters. However, the at sign (@) is sorted as it is in Microsoft Excel for Windows; that is, it precedes alphabetic characters when sorted in ascending order.
